As fordisarmament, that of Germany was provided for in the treaty: thatof other nations was to be undertaken under the League. Whileequality of trade conditions was not definitely assured to Germanyby the treaty, assurance was repeatedly given that Germanys in-dustrial requirements would be met. The German Governmentsstatement had asked Americans to place the Fourteen Points oppo-site the peace terms.
