A lawyer whose serv-ices have been given to Ismay during a number ofyears past, Mr. Murphy has gained a place of dis-tinction in the courts of Custer County. He cameto Montana as a citizen in April, igoy, from hisnative state of Indiana, although he spent a fewbrief years enroute in Minneapolis and Milwaukee. Mr. Murphy was born at Spencerville in DeKalbCounty, Indiana, but he was reared in Allen Coun-ty, that state, and his common school training whichhe received there was supplemented by preparatorywork in college before entering the Ohio WesleyanUniversity at Delaware, Ohio.
