All of his life he was en-gaged in farming, and found that occupation aprofitable one. Both as a democrat and a Lutheranhe lived up to his beliefs, and was a most excellentman in every respect. His marriage took place atAuburn, when he was united with Sophia Eggers,born in Germany in 1856. She also died at Au-burn, passing away in 1894. Her parents were earlysettlers of Auburn. John T. Caspars and his wifebecame the parents of the following children: Grace,who married a Mr. Dirks, a farmer, lives at John-son, Nebraska; Mary, who married John Mientz,a farmer, resides at Beatrice, Nebraska; Maggie,who married George Frerichs, a farmer, residesat Auburn, Nebraska; Thomas, who was a farmerliving at Auburn, Nebraska, died at Saint Joseph,Missouri, when thirty-three years of age; H.
