Since coming to Montana he has rapidlydeveloped his financial interests and is one of thedirectors of the Commercial National Bank, theFirst National Bank of Carter, the NVest Side StateBank of Great Falls and other banking institutions.For several years he was a resident of Havre, Mon-tana, and was elected mayor of that city in 1904and again in 1906. In 1918 he was diosen a mem-ber of the Montana Legislature for a two yearterm, and was elected mayor of Great Falls onApril 7, 1919. He is a democrat in politics. Mr. New-man is active in irrigation work in thestate and is now president of the Montana StateIrrigation Congress, which has charge of the in-itiative bill that will be submitted to the people at

Mr. Newman is affiliated with Euclid Lodge No.58, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, with ButteConsistory of the Scottish Rite, and Algeria Templeof the Mystic Shrine. November 20, 1897, he married Miss Jennie Sine-berg, a native of New York State. Their threechildren are Bernice, Edward and Arthur. Arthur J. Breitenstein. The man who has madea success of life and won the honor and esteemof his fellow citizens deserves more than passingnotice. Such is the record, briefly stated, of ArthurJ. Breitenstein, the well-known manager of theHotel Rainbow at Great Falls.
