INDIANA AND INDIANANS 1495 Julia Elliott, .youngest daughter of Gen.William J. Elliott. She was born atIndianapolis September 6, 1861. Hermother, Charlotte Tuttle Elliott, who wasborn at Watertown, New York, was alsoof a prominent Indiana family. Julia Elliott was educated in the public.schools of Indianapolis and at the KappesSeminary, then the leading scliool foryoung ladies in the city. She was promi-nent in social circles and well known as amusicar amateur—being one of the cast inFra Diavolo as produced by ProfessorPearsons Indianapolis Opera Company inMay, 1883, with William Castle of theAbbott Opera Company in the title role. October 3, 1883, she was married toEdwin H. Peck, of an old New York family,his father and grandfather being both na-tives of New Yorji City. His father, Wil-liam J.
