Randolph Rogers (1825-1892) was an American sculptor known for his neoclassical style and his work on public monuments. He was born in New York and studied art in Italy, where he lived for most of his life. His most famous works include the bronze doors of the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., the statue of Abraham Lincoln in the Lincoln Tomb in Springfield, Illinois, and the bronze statue of George Washington in front of Federal Hall in New York City. He also created numerous other sculptures and monuments throughout the United States, many of which can still be seen today.
