In recommending books to children, parents willdo well to remember that books in which youngpeople are not interested will not be read in sucha way as to be profitable. The books in these listsare all interesting in themselves, and there needbe no fear that they will not be read. The childwho has been trained after the manner indicatedin these talks will need little further assistance inmastering these books. Volume I ^sops Fables. There are many good editions published by the variou;*schoolbook houses. That edited by J. H.
