This map shows the cumulative collection of features that would have existed in their current condition by 1971. By the time the original historic district was established, 467 of the district’s 594 features, or 79%, were in place. At the time, the percentage of contributing features may have been much higher than it is in 2011 due to the destruction of large areas of historic features to make way for parking areas after the president’s death.
