[Severe Storms, Tornadoes, and Flooding] Norfork, AR, March 26, 2008 -- Water that rose past the top of this home's garage, completely destroying the interior, is contrasted with an elevated, mitigated home (right) that sustained no loss in the main living areas. These homes were subjected to the powerful floodwaters of the White River which rose more than 50 feet in some areas along its length, fed by up to 12 inches of rain that fell in some areas of Arkansas over a two day period in mid-March.
