Summary
"A Reverie", the only finished (or possibly surviving) illustration for the Alfred and Arthur Sullivan song cycle, The Window; or, The Song of the Wrens. This was published in the first edition (1871) of the work. Signed with Millais' monogram and dated 1868 in the lower right. Pencil, blue and grey wash heightened with white; 19.6 x 16.5cm (7 11/16 x 6 1/2in).
