Summary
A group of officers during the Battle of Ferozeshah. Lithograph after an original sketch by Prince Waldemar of Prussia [Friedrich Wilhelm Waldemar von Preußen; Berlin, 2 August 1817 – Münster, 17 February 1849] and published in 'In Memory of the Travels of Prince Waldemar of Prussia to India 1844-1846' (Vol.II). 104 fine tinted lithographed plates by Bellermann, A. Haun and others after sketches and drawings by Prince Waldemar and others (one double page) across two volumes of the work.
Based on Waldemar von Hohenzollern's composition, Hermann Kretzschmer (1811-1890) made a drawing before 1855 (Fig.Nm.XIX 3396/45) - a design for the lithograph "Gruppe von Offizieren des englischen Hauptquartiers", later made by Ferdinand Bellerman (1814-1889), printed at the lithographic establishment Anst. v. Mercier & Loeillot in Berlin, for the publication "Zur Erinnerung an die Reise des Prinzen Waldemar nach Indien in den Jahren 1844-1846" (2 volumes, Berlin 1855). Cf. Fig.Nm.XIX 3395/1 [Piotr Borusowski].
