[On back of photograph] 'Aboriginal Canoe Building on Murray River / The sheet of bark, after being propped up all round the edge, is then weighted in the middle with stones and logs of wood, then a fire is made inside and under to heat the sap and make it soft and pliable. It is then left to dry in the shape required'
