Street,who, by this building and a fund, provided for the encourage-ment of the study of art; Farnam and Durfee Halls, dormi-tories ; and the Winchester Observatory, to be devoted mainlyto original astronomical research; and the foundations werelaid for the Peabody Museum, the generous gift of GeorgePeabody, the American banker in London. With the Peabody Museum is indissolubly connected thememory of Othniel C.
