They have also special lines of household goods, baby carriages, toys and novelties at prices which command thepopular trade. In the balcony of their annex building is a spacious restaurant where a lunch can be had at any hour of the day.This, with the advantages of pleasant waiting and toilet rooms, makes their big store a delightful place for the shoppers, and thesensible housewives of this section of the State make regular pilgrimages to this Mecca of all retail purchasers, and the highesttestimony to the superiority of the store will be given by its thousands of regular customers. Mr. Jas. Thomson, the senior memberof the firm, is one of the oldest merchants of Hartford, and has been closely associated with its important interests throughout themost progressive period in its history.
