Simons & Co. maintain a well-equipped establishment, a part of whichis utilized as a cabinet shop, where first-class repairing is done to order and atreasonable rates, a specialty being made of the repairing of hall clocks, re-gilding mirror frames, etc. Employment is given to a number of skilledassistants, and no trouble is spared to ensure complete satisfaction to everycustomer. Mr. E. Simons is a native of Connecticut, aud Mr. Patrick Stevensof Canada, and both are too well known among the reliable business men ofHartford to require any personal comments from us; therefore, we will onlyadd, in conclusion, that all who desire to obtain bargains in genuine antiquefurniture should visit their establishment. 114

Martin at No. 125Charter Oak Street is a credit to any community, and this fact seems to befully appreciated by the people of this vicinity, who show their appreciationby a liberal and sustained patronage. Appearances, however, might count forlittle with discriminating buyers were they not supported by something moresubstantial, and it is evident from a glance at the stock presented at Mr.Martins establishment why he enjoys such a large and prosperous trade.From the beginning of his enterprise he has made it an invariable rule to handlenone but first-class goods, and by so doing he has been able to attract and holdthe most desirable class of patronage.
