In a city such as Hartford, the naturalsource of supply of a large manufacturing centre, the consumption of coal is enormous, and the business of supplying the demand thus created, if prosecutedwith the intelligence and ability which mark the conduct of the affairs of the Co-operative Coal Company, must of necessity bring continually large returns.Moreover, such a company presents decided advantages to the consumer, since its expenses being reduced to a minimum, and its large facilities presentingspecial advantages in obtaining supplies, it is in a position to accept lower prices than the majority of its competitors.
