During this event, the media received the latest information on Discovery’s processing and viewed workers preparing the vehicle for its safe return to flight scheduled for a launch planning window of March 2005.  Kicking off the activities at the Press Site Auditorium, technical experts led two workshops addressing Reinforced Carbon-Carbon and vehicle instrumentation.  During the tour of the OPF, reporters saw work in progress on Discovery, including reinstallation of the Reinforced Carbon-Carbon panels on the Shuttle's wing leading edge, wiring inspections and instrumentation updates being completed for Return to Flight. Completing mission STS-121 to the International Space Station, Discovery traveled  5.3 million miles, landing on orbit 202.  Mission elapsed time was 12 days, 18 hours, 37 minutes and 54 seconds.  Main gear touchdown occurred on time at 9:14:43 EDT.  Wheel stop was at 9:15:49 EDT. Liftoff occurred on time at 8:47 p.m. EST. STS131-S-115 (20 April 2010) --- Space shuttle Discovery lands on Runway 33 at the Shuttle Landing Facility at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 9:08 a.m. (EDT) on April 20, 2010, completing the 15-day STS-131 mission to the International Space Station. Main gear touchdown was at 9:08:35 a.m. followed by nose gear touchdown at 9:08:47 a.m. and wheels stop at 9:09:33 a.m. Aboard are NASA astronauts Alan Poindexter, commander; James P. Dutton Jr., pilot; Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger, Rick Mastracchio, Stephanie Wilson, Clayton Anderson and Japanese astronaut Naoko Yamazaki, all mission specialists. The seven-member STS-131 crew carried the Leonardo Multi-Purpose Logistics Module, filled with supplies, a new crew sleeping quarters and science racks that were transferred to the station's laboratories. The crew also switched out a gyroscope on the station?s truss, installed a spare ammonia storage tank and retrieved a Japanese experiment from the station?s exterior. CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- At NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, space shuttle Discovery Flow Director Stephanie Stilson addresses participants of the STS-133 Tweetup. NASA is hosting about 150 of its Twitter followers from around the world and several dozen states and providing them with a behind-the-scenes perspective to share with their own followers on the social networking service.      The "Tweeps," as NASA calls them, will have a chance to tour Kennedy and meet with shuttle technicians, managers, engineers and astronauts. They also will receive a demonstration of Robonaut, a human-like robot similar to the one that will be delivered to the International Space Station on the STS-133 mission. Space shuttle Discovery and its STS-133 crew are scheduled to launch Nov. 3 at 3:52 p.m. EDT.
