Family members gather during a memorial service in honor of the Marines who lost their lives in an MV-22 Osprey crash during training. The Marines were represented by All-purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment (A.L.I.C.E) packs which were decorated with flowers and M-16A2 service rifles. The memorial was held at the 53 area San Mateo grinder at Camp Pendleton, California. The families and friends were on hand, as well as the Commandant of the Marine Corps and other high ranking officials (not shown). Fourteen of the Marines who lost their lives were attached to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment
