A three story building next to a mosqe in the Jolan District was leveled in order to prevent insurgents from hiding in the destroyed building to launch attacks against the Multi-National Forces. On December 11, 2004, some of the citizens of Fallujah, Iraq, were allowed to enter the city in working parties to clear up the rubble after the battle to rid the city of insurgents.
