Climaxing the celebration of National Airmail Week, Andre Kostelanetz, noted orchestra and a two-time winner of a trophy for being America's number one air traveler, today presented to Postmaster General Farley, a bronze placque which he (Kostelanzetz) sent around the world by airmail to show how that branch of the service has speeded up the delivery of letters and packages. Well trained guards protect records, personnel, and the building against all intruders. In this picture, Officer William L. Good is shown at the "Patrol Board" in the Captain of the Guard's office which maintains direct communication with every watch station and substation throughout the huge building. Here it is cutting two identical floor plates for a tank section at the bottom of a new member of the "Liberty Fleet." The work is done at what was formerly a freight car plant now a large Eastern plant. All parts are prefabricated in this huge Eastern plant which formerly turned out freight cars.
