(Dr.) Tom Knolmayer, CHIEF of Surgery at the 3rd Medical Group, Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, holds one of his sled dogs on Feb. 27, 2005, before a training run with less than a week before the start of the Iditarod Race at Alaska. The sixteen dogs pulling his sled during will wear booties on their feet to protect them from cold as they run about 100 miles a day for almost two weeks. Although this is MAJ.
