This photo was most likely taken 1898 or 1899 when Galloway worked for Hoskaninni Mining Company. Julius Stone described him as a hunter and trapper who originated the current style of rowing on the Colorado River.

The park wanted the overpaint removed and the dinosaur returned to its original colors. Based on color photographs and paint analysis the conservators were able to determine the original colors.
