LT. COL. Roger Edwards, Commander of the 314th TALCE, Little Rock AFB, Ark, brief newly arrived troops about their mission. Their mission is to assist refugees who entered Zaire in a massive surge to flee the civil war in Rwanda. The US military flew in vital water purification equipment and relief cargos to help the Rwandans. An estimated 2000 refugees die daily because of the cholera epidemic. The situation is steadly improving as fresh water provided by US military teams increasingly reach the camps that house up to 1.2 million refugees
