Gaṇeśa, seated on a lotus on a terrace overlooking water and distant hills. Gaṇeśa is shown seated with one knee raised and with four arms. In his upper left hand he holds an axe which he rests against his shoulder and in his lower left hand he holds a lotus flower. In his upper right hand he holds a ball of laddu (sweetmeats) from which his vahana (vehicle) the rat eats. In his lower right hand he holds a manuscript. He wears lavish jewellery and a crown and has a floral garland around his neck. He is shown with only one tusk and a large pot-belly. In front of his are two platters, one piled high with laddu and the other holding fruits. A jug is next to the platters. A thick black border surrounds the painting
