Yonkers Public Library, Nepperhan Avenue & South Broadway, Yonkers, Westchester County, NY
Summary
Significance: The Yonkers Library Building was built by the City upon the receipt of a Carnegie donation of $50,000, and so is a part of the physical evidence of that worldwide benefaction. It is an example of a stylistic trend in architecture during the first decade of our 20th century towards less flamboyant, more historically correct massing and detailing.
