f the planets in the burying-place has beenmade from the beginning. 66. Make seven sorts of cake of a red colour. Takethe flesh of land and aquatic animals, and odoriferousmeat-offerings. Put these offerings in a pot, and coverit with a black cloth. Thou devil Oddy* look uponthese offerings now, and recognise these signs! 67. Put the land-turtles shell in a buffalos horn,and fasten it with the clay used in the blacksmithsforge. The devil Oddi/ is watching at the roads byopening wide his mouth and doing mischief. He standswhere three ways meet. Therefore understand, youthat perform the ceremony dexterously, that the saidenchantments are buried in one of these roads. Othou devil Oddij, heal this sick person to-day, and blesshim! 69. Make offerings with mustard, and two sorts ofgrain called telle and mun, and grain burst by parching;also flesh of land and aquatic animals. Prepare andoffer the meat-offerings with reddish, green, yellow,black, and white boiled rice, and with cow butter. Tieup two arches with plantain-leaves on both sides, andtie up a black cloth above.
