Wrigley and Murphy's plane - first pilots to fly from Melbourne to Darwin - 1919
Summary
Henry Wrigley - A pioneering flyer and aviation scholar, he piloted the first trans-Australia flight from Melbourne to Darwin in 1919. His co-pilot was Arthur William Murphy a senior engineer and aviator in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). The feat earned both men the Air Force Cross.
