While unloading off of a C-141B Starlifter from the 8th Airlift Squadron, McChord Air Force Base, Washington, a National Science Foundation (NSF) member on his way to McMurdo Sound Base has been told it will be another day due to a weather cancelation. The NSF members are a group of volunteers ranging from biological scientists to mail administers who spend five to fifteen months studying Antarctic life during DEEP FREEZE '98. The US Air Force is their primary way of making it to the "Ice."
