description

Summary

Significance: Weston is an excellent example of a large, early 19th-century Prince Geroge's County brick plantation house with refined decorative details in the late-Federal and Greek Revival styles. The house was built ca. 1820 for the most successful plantation owner in the Upper Marlboro area, Thomas Clagett VI. The property has been in the Claggett family since before the turn of the 18th century, the site of the Clagett family homestead for nine generation.
Survey number: HABS MD-668
Building/structure dates: 1820 Initial Construction

This is another AI-assisted collection, this time it features 20K+ images of manors. A manor is a large country house with lands, the principal house of a landed (country) estate. This collection took about 15 minutes to make, including adding about 18,000 relevant images as "manors" and removing portraits of people with "Manor" last names. Of course, image recognition was already done before and that process required much much longer time and machine resources.
