Significance: The Village of West Overton grew out of a family farm established in 1803 by henry Overholt. Coming to Westmoreland County from Bucks County, Overholt took over a small farm with 2 stills already in operation. In 181, his son, Abraham, acquired the farm. In 1837, Abraham Overholt added a grist mill to the farm and the following year he built a large residence of stone employing a Georgian floor plan...
