At sea aboard USS John C. Stennis Vice President Richard B. Cheney is led on the flight deck by Lt. Cmdr. Kameron Kerns and Rear Adm. James Zortman while observing launch and recovery of aircraft. Vice President Cheney stopped aboard Stennis while meeting with coalition forces in the region. John C. The first aircraft carrier commissioned into the United States Navy was USS Langley (CV-1) on 20 March 1922.
