U.S. Navy Quartermaster 2nd Class Todd Marriott uses an alidade to determine the position of the guided missile cruiser USS Vella Gulf (CG 72) as the ship approaches Varna, Bulgaria, May 30, 2014, for a scheduled port visit. The Vella Gulf conducted maritime security operations and theater security engagements in the Black Sea as part of the U.S. commitment to regional stability.
