Washington, D.C. (Jul. 09, 2002) The Navy's 2002 Sailors of the Year pose for pictures following their promotion to Chief Petty Officer. Sailors of the Year are presented left to right as follows: Pacific Fleet, Chief Machinists Mate (SS/DV) Lorenze Tate III; Atlantic Fleet, Chief Hospital Corpsman (SW/FMF) William Burrell; Naval Reserve Force, Chief Intelligence Specialist (AW) Kerstin Elledge; Naval Forces Ashore, Chief Boatswains Mate (DSW/SS) Joseph Howard. The Navy's Sailor of the Year program began 30 years ago to recognize its top enlisted personnel.
