description

Summary

U.S. Marines, sailors and soldiers pay tribute to Lance Bombardier James Dwyer at the Camp Dwyer Memorial before it was decommissioned here, July 30, 2012. Dwyer, a British commando with 29th Commando Regiment, Royal Artillery, was killed in action Dec. 27, 2006, during the initial British and U.S. Marine occupation of southern Helmand. The decommissioning ceremony was held not only in honor of Dwyer, but also in the memory of all the servicemembers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The memorial will be transferred to Camp Leatherneck and eventually make its way to the 29th Commando Regiment in England.

A very large dataset of various big guns, howitzers, mortars, columbiads, all types of canon-like things - everything besides machine guns and rockets. This collection as well as all massive collections on Picryl.com required two steps: First, we picked a set to train AI vision to recognize cannon artillery, and after that, ran all 25M+ images in our database through our image recognition network. All media in the collection is in the public domain. There is no limitation on the dataset usage - educational, scientific, or commercial.
