Mediterranean Sea (Apr. 01, 2005) Torpedoman's Mate 2nd Class Jared Billington instructs a Sailor on the proper loading of an M-240 machine gun before she moves to the live-fire portion of a Small Arms Qualification Course held aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). The M-240 is a 7.62mm, ground-mounted, gas-operated, crew-served machine gun that is replacing the M-60 series machine guns currently in use today. The Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group was recently relieved after completing nearly four months in the Persian Gulf in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
