The loss of Eden, - and Eden, lost : N.B. Every man has his price.' Sir Robert Walpole's politicks.

description

Summary

This caricature gives the portraits of two would-be benefactors of their country, who, the satirist is inclined to hint, were not acting from purely disinterested motives. General Arnold, dressed in his uniform, and with his sword drawn, while offering up an invocation to Liberty, is one of the figures; Eden (Lord Auckland) is the other; the patriotic statesman has also apostrophised Liberty, and successfully in his instance, with his pen.
