PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 04, 2008) The amphibious transport dock USS New Orleans (LPD 18) performs plane guard duty during flight operations for the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4), not pictured. New Orleans is part of the Boxer Expeditionary Strike Group and is participating in a composite training unit exercise in preparation for a scheduled deployment in early 2009.
