The 35th Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. James F. Amos, speaks with Marines and sailors of Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response and Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Team Company-Europe aboard Moron Air Base, June 15, 2013. While visiting SP-MAGTF Crisis Response, Amos, the sergeant major of the Marine Corps, Sgt. Maj. Micheal P. Barrett, and other officials, visited portions of the task force located throughout the unit’s area of responsibility, including Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy. During their time at each base, they spoke to servicemembers about the importance of SP-MAGTF Crisis Response, the new Marine Security Augmentation Unit and various issues around the Corps. “Of all the things we have done to protect our Nation and its interests overseas, this MAGTF is at the top of the list,” Amos said. “We respond to today’s crisis with the force we have today, and we do it today.
