Team Navy/Coast Guard member, Retired Aviation Technician 3rd Class Kathleen Ray of Palmdale, Calif., participates in the Recumbent Cycle and Womens Handcycle event placing sixth, with a time of 32:09, here May 12 for the 2013 Warrior Games. The Warrior Games includes competitions in archery, cycling, seated volleyball, shooting, swimming, track and field, and wheelchair basketball. The goal of the Warrior Games is not necessarily to identify the most skilled athletes, but rather to demonstrate the incredible potential of wounded warriors through competitive sports. More than 200 wounded, ill, or injured service members from the U.S. and U.K. armed forces are scheduled to compete in the Paralympics-style competition May 11-16.
