Takuya Kanto, a civilian firefighter with the 35th Civil Engineer Squadron, poses for a photo at Misawa Air Base, Japan, March 3, 2016. Kanto has been a MAB firefighter for over 20 years and frequently dedicates his time to visiting local villages that were affected by the 2011 Great East Japan earthquake and tsunami. Together with American military members, Kanto continues to strengthen the relationship between the U.S. and Japan by being an active member of the local community.
