Summary

Significance: Stillman House, built in the 1850s, is one of the oldest residences in Brownsville. The house is said to have been the residence of Charles Stillman who owned and developed the original townsite of Brownsville. In the 1890s the house was occupied by Thomas Carson, agent for Stillman interests, and mayor of Brownsville from 1879-1892.
