Summary

Viking Ahoy (ship)
The Viking Ahoy was used in the film 'Blue Lagoon' which starred Jean Simmons. Later she was owned by the Seventh Day Adventist Church and used as a mission ship based in Fiji over a period of years between the late 1940s and 1950s. The ship was eventually sold to a New Zealand entrepreneur and met her end on a reef in Suva Harbour, where her wreck still lies. Her twin deisel engines were the first of their type to be built at the Southern Cross Engineering firm in Toowoomba, Queensland. (Description supplied with photograph).
