Sower (after Millet, 1881) - My Dream
Summary
Vincent Willem van Gogh (30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890) was a Dutch artist, one of the brightest representatives of post-Impressionism. He worked hard and fruitfully: for a little over ten years, he created such a number of works as none of the famous painters had. He painted portraits and self-portraits, landscapes and still lifes, cypresses, wheat fields, and sunflowers. During the ten years of Van Gogh's artistic career, Vincent's brother Theo provided him with financial support. In 1882 Van Gogh had an offer for a commission of paintings of The Hague, however, the paintings were not accepted.
