Sculptural masks created by Iraq and Afghanistan war
Summary
Sculptural masks created by Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans hang in the Southwestern University art gallery where they are featured in the Combat Arts exhibit Sept. 14, 2013. The art pieces in the exhibit were all created by Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. Combat Arts San Diego is a nonprofit organization that provides visual arts classes to active and inactive duty veterans who have served in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and was founded on the principle that making art is inherently therapeutic.
