Salomon van Ruysdael was a Dutch painter who lived between 1600 and 1670. He was born in Naarden, the Netherlands, and was the nephew of the famous landscape painter Jacob van Ruisdael. Salomon is known for his realistic and atmospheric landscapes, often depicting scenes from the Dutch countryside. His paintings are characterised by their attention to detail, particularly in the rendering of light and shadow. Salomon's work influenced many other Dutch landscape painters, including his nephew Jacob and the artist Aelbert Cuyp.
