Summary

Gulf of Aden (Apr. 30, 2005) Sailors assigned to the guided missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60), and the coastal patrol ships USS Typhoon (PC 5), and USS Firebolt (PC 10), transfer men and women in a rigid hull inflatable boat after their boat, a fishing vessel, capsized 25 miles off the coast of Somalia. The German Navy frigate FGS Karlsruhe (F 212) also assisted in the rescue effort. All three U.S. Navy ships are currently deployed in the Indian Ocean providing Maritime Security Operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).
