Summary

Persian Gulf (May. 12, 2005) Sailors assigned to the guided missile destroyer USS Mustin (DDG 89) transport Motor Vessel Olympias crew members to the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) in a rigged hull inflatable boat (RHIB). Mustin Sailors rescued 27 people from the Olympias after an engine-room fire engulfed the vessel. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed and is conducting operations in support of multi-national forces in Iraq and maritime security operations to help set the conditions for security and stability in the region.
