Opens with same footage already found on ON 175 Q. Soldiers in heavy winter coats; fur hats; rifles; march across snow toward camera. LS same soldiers in single-file line; marching across snow, to left; big hills of snow in BG. These troops climbing snow covered mountain. GV over area with Russian Army resting; soldiers sit or recline on ground. Closer same; soldiers lying on the grass; a few trees in BG.



Galician peasants / farmers return home after Russian advance. Refugees approach on dirt road; incl. woman carrying child; boys of various ages; man w/ child; etc. Displaced persons; civilians; horse-drawn wagons on left. Women in long skirts & scarves lead cows; woman w/ bag over shoulder; holding hand of little boy; etc; CU family group: man & children; in front of wagon loaded w/ all possessions; man is holding baby; boys stand by his sides; girl sitting up in wagon.



Russian soldiers (Cossacks?) in fur hats; carry wounded man on stretcher; other soldiers follow. MS same group & others on beach; 2 men (1 w/ Red Cross armband) lift stretcher onto boat full of wounded Cossacks. Closer shot boat; man pushes & climbs on as it starts to move toward ship in distance. Looking down on street in town; many soldiers march on sides. Street level view same; more similar. Roll call of exhausted soldiers.
