Rubber reclamation. Harvesting rubber from discarded tires. Scrap rubber, reclaimed by dissolving and washing out the fibrous materials in old casings, goes through the first refining process in a big Midwest plant. The cleaned, plasticized scrap passes through rolls which carry off dirt and foreign particles at the sides. The refined rubber is then gathered in sheets for further steps in the xylos process.
