For this gallant actcongratulatory letters were sent from General Sir HerbertPlumer, commanding 2nd Army, and from Major-GeneralR. J. Penny, commanding 33rd Division. The following appeared in the Glasgow Herald in connection therewith :— This officer led the first wave of the left and leading companyin a counter-attack.
